Service Description
Drawing on binding, knotting, looping, deconstructing cloth, chaining, double twining, inlay, knotting, alongside plenty of opportunity to explore needle weaving using basic weaving structures that can then be explored further through colour, texture and unusual found materials alongside conventional wools and cottons. The first part of the morning is fairly structured learning solid techniques, the second half of the workshop will be of a personal focus where you will explore your own interest and newly found skill, through the careful guidance of Sharon and her teaching. During the day you will explore weaving on and around found objects such as stones, driftwood, natural flora and fauna, where your perception of weave will be challenged and the boundaries pushed and tested. Sharon will have plenty of inspiration for you to peruse, with handouts and all materials supplied. This is a fun and highly creative workshop where you will be gently challenged to think outside of your own thoughts through active experimentation. You will leave the session feeling inspired, relaxed and with your own personal artwork.
