Acclaimed artists and designers to showcase their work in a unique Brighton venue.
Southern members of Design-Nation, the leading portfolio for designer-makers based in the UK, will exhibit their work at the Regency Town House this October, showcasing the best in contemporary design and art - in a beautiful Grade I listed period setting.
The exhibition will comprise a bold and striking collection of work by Design-Nation members from across the south of England, including ceramics, lighting, textiles, furniture, metalwork, enamel, jewellery, leather accessories and architectural drawings. Functional pieces, furniture and wearable art will sit alongside two dimensional, sculptural and abstract works, to create an intriguing presentation of exceptional contemporary art and making in 2025.
Innovation, bold ideas, material skills and passion will be at the forefront of this inspiring show, and the artists will be on hand throughout to chat to visitors about their work. The unique setting of the partially restored Regency Town House, built in the 1820s as part of Charles Busby’s Brunswick Estate, will provide a magnificent backdrop for the contemporary pieces.
All work will be for sale and visitors are welcome to discuss commission opportunities and bespoke projects, should they wish.
This not-to-be-missed exhibition opens at 11am Wednesday 15 October, until Sunday 26 October, at The Regency Town House,13 Brunswick Square, Brighton BN3 1EH.
Opening hours: 11am-5pm every day except Sunday 26, when the exhibition will close at 4pm.

Textiles Heritage Crafts of Andover
Discover the heritage crafts of Andover, through weaving, dyeing and conversation.
The production of textiles, specifically wool, through spinning, weaving and dyeing was a key part of Andover’s past, and over time the textiles industry helped the evolution of the small market town to become a significant centre for textiles in the UK.
Join textile artists Sharon Kearley and Lucy Pick for drop in sessions having a go at dyeing your own yarn or linen using natural flowers and sustainable methods, or try your hand at weaving using pre-dyed yarn to weave on your own card loom to take away.
Sharon will also have her Viking replica loom and a table loom for the public to experience hand weaving on. You can also listen to stories inspired by this industry from local people in a sound piece created by Boris Allenou during a residency at Andover Museum in partnership with Chapel Arts Studio.

Chapel Arts Studios Residency Sparks Creativity and Community at Andover Museum

A two-day artist residency hosted at Andover Museum in April has been hailed as a transformative cultural event for the town — drawing between 250 and 300 visitors, fostering creative dialogue, and leaving a legacy that is expected to inspire future projects across the region.
Delivered in partnership with Chapel Arts Studios and made possible through funding from the Test Valley Arts Foundation, the residency took place on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 April 2025, offering a unique opportunity for the public to interact directly with three nationally recognised artists:
-
Sharon Kearley – a textile artist and weaver with a deep connection to heritage materials.
-
Boris Allenou – a sound artist specialising in sensory landscapes and immersive installations.
-
Lucy Pick – a natural dyer and eco-printer known for her work with sustainable, plant-based methods.
Throughout the two days, Andover Museum became a hub of hands-on activity, with visitors of all ages taking part in weaving, sound exploration, natural dyeing workshops, and conversations that spanned everything from art and ecology to identity and place.
Hannah Cantellow, Interim Director at Chapel Arts Studios, said:
“This residency was a celebration of what’s possible when artists, institutions, and communities come together.
“Thanks to the invaluable support from the Test Valley Arts Foundation, we were able to offer an event that was open, engaging, and genuinely impactful for everyone involved.”
